# Images

## Images appear only after the recipient allows downloads

Many mail clients block remote images until the reader allows them. Set the image (or the whole
template) to **Inside the message** in the designer; the image then travels with the message and
shows immediately ([Templates](concepts/templates)).

Embedded images are limited to 64 KB each and 192 KB per signature. A larger image stays linked
without warning on the mail path, so check the size of the file you uploaded and reduce it if
needed (an email logo rarely needs more than a few kilobytes).

The user photo and campaign banners are always linked for now.

## Embedded images are listed as attachments

ScaiLine places embedded images right next to the HTML that uses them and marks them as inline,
which is what mail clients look for. Most then show them only inside the signature. Some,
notably Outlook desktop, also list inline images among the attachments; that is the client's
choice and does not affect how the signature looks.

If a client that normally hides them lists the images, send the message source to support.

## An image is broken

* The asset was deleted after the template was published: upload it again and republish.
* A linked image cannot be loaded from the recipient's network: images are served from
`https://scailine.scailabs.ai/assets/`, so that host must be reachable.
