What is ScaiWave?

Most communication platforms added AI features after the fact — a sidebar assistant here, a summarization button there. ScaiWave was designed differently. AI models and agents are room members alongside humans, with the same ability to read messages, respond, share files, and execute actions.

This isn't a gimmick. When AI participates in conversations naturally, it changes how teams work. A knowledge base agent can answer questions in real time during a discussion. A code review agent can comment on shared files. A project management agent can create tasks from conversation decisions — all within the flow of normal communication.

ScaiWave handles the full spectrum of organizational communication: direct messages, group channels, project rooms, and cross-organizational federation. It integrates deeply with ScaiDrive for file sharing, ScaiGrid for AI inference, and ScaiCore for agent orchestration.

Key Capabilities

Every room in ScaiWave can include AI participants. You invite a model or ScaiCore agent the same way you invite a colleague — and they participate in the conversation according to their configuration:

Always-on participants respond to every message (useful for assistants and note-takers)
Mention-triggered participants respond only when addressed (useful for specialists)
Event-driven participants watch for specific patterns and act autonomously (useful for automation)

AI responses stream into the conversation in real time, with full visibility into token usage, model identity, and confidence signals.

ScaiWave supports federation between organizations, enabling secure cross-boundary communication. Federating organizations can communicate while maintaining separate administration, identity providers, and data storage. Federation is handled at the protocol level and integrates with ScaiKey for cross-organization identity verification.

ScaiWave supports a comprehensive set of content types: text and markdown, images, audio and video, files (with ScaiDrive integration), code blocks with syntax highlighting, structured cards, polls, reactions, and location sharing. AI participants can produce all of these content types, not just text.

For conversations that require maximum privacy, ScaiWave supports end-to-end encryption where messages are encrypted on the sender's device and can only be decrypted by room members. Key management integrates with ScaiVault.
