ScaiEdit

ScaiEdit is the ScaiLabs Markdown and code editor — a modern, agent-aware editor that ships in two shapes: a standalone desktop app you install directly, and an embeddable component other ScaiLabs products drop into their own UIs.

This namespace is freshly bootstrapped. Real content lands here as the ScaiEdit team ships. Watch this space for install guides, keybindings, extension APIs, and integration recipes.

Two shapes, one editor#

Standalone#

Install ScaiEdit as a native app on macOS, Windows, or Linux. First-class Markdown authoring (WYSIWYG + source, live preview, tables, math), syntax-highlighted code editing for 100+ languages, and built-in integrations for the rest of ScaiLabs (ScaiKey sign-in, ScaiDrive files, ScaiGit repos, ScaiAtlas models).

Downloads land on the ScaiLabs /downloads page under Applications & Clients — one card per platform (macOS, Windows, Linux, AppImage, DEB, MSI, DMG).

Embedded#

Import the ScaiEdit component into an existing ScaiLabs UI (or any web app) to get the same editing experience — same keybindings, same theming, same extension API. Used inside ScaiCMS for authoring content, inside ScaiAtlas for editing model cards, and available for third-party integrators.

What ScaiEdit offers#

• Markdown-first — commonmark + GFM extensions (tables, task lists, strikethrough, autolinks), tri-mode toggle (source / preview / split), math via KaTeX, mermaid + PlantUML diagrams.
• Code-first — 100+ language grammars, LSP client, tree-sitter incremental parsing, multi-cursor + column edit, integrated search across a workspace.
• Agent-native — first-class ScaiBot / ScaiCore inline chat, inline completions, refactor commands, and the ScaiEdit /agent prompt channel for scripted transforms.
• Themable — the same design tokens as the rest of ScaiLabs, plus community themes via ScaiExchange.
• Extensible — TypeScript extension API with the same shape in both standalone and embedded builds. Package extensions and publish through ScaiExchange.
